Website Accessibility Statement

Commitment to Accessibility

The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (Broward MPO) is committed to providing meaningful access to its programs, services, activities, and public information for all individuals, including persons with disabilities.

In accordance with:
• The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
• Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
• Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
• U.S. Department of Transportation regulations
• The U.S. Department of Justice ADA Title II Rule on Web and Mobile Accessibility (2024)

The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (Broward MPO) works to ensure that its website and digital content are accessible to all users.

Accessibility Standards

Our goal is for web content and digital documents to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which is the technical standard referenced in the DOJ’s ADA Title II rule for state and local governments.

We are actively reviewing and improving website content, templates, and digital documents to strengthen accessibility and usability.

While we strive toward conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, accessibility is an ongoing process, and some content—particularly legacy or archived materials—may not yet fully meet current standards.

Accessibility Enhancement Technology

This website utilizes accessibility enhancement technology intended to improve usability for individuals with disabilities. Features may include tools to adjust text size, contrast, navigation support, and other assistive functions.

These tools are designed to supplement, not replace, accessible design and development practices. The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (Broward MPO) remains responsible for ensuring digital accessibility and continues to review and improve underlying website content and structure.

PDF Documents and Downloadable Materials

The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (Broward MPO) publishes planning reports, technical documents, meeting materials, maps, and public involvement resources in PDF and other downloadable formats.

Due to the volume of legacy and archived documents, some older files may not yet be fully accessible. The agency is taking a phased approach to:

• Prioritize high‑impact and legally required documents (e.g., LRTP, TIP, Title VI materials, meeting agendas and minutes)
• Ensure newly posted documents are created in accessible formats
• Improve document workflows to support long‑term accessibility

Request an Accessible Version or Reasonable Accommodation

If you experience difficulty accessing any website content, including PDF documents, or if you require information in an alternate format, The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (Broward MPO)  will provide reasonable accommodations and effective communication upon request.

Alternate formats may include:
• Accessible PDF
• Accessible digital text
